The DVD is filmed in a real hairdressing salon and a spa enabling students to develop an understanding of a variety of different work environments and roles. This sample footage| shows a clip from the interview with Caroline Roe, Style Director at Elite Hair Salon, who talks about her work and role within the salon and we see her going about her work. She describes her regular activities and explains where she finds inspiration and how she keeps up-to-date with style fashions; she also talks about hairdressing competitions - including how they can motivate inexperienced staff - and hair exhibitions.

The Learning Resource File provides at least 20 ’Teaching Ideas’ sheets with accompanying Activity Sheets for individual, group work and homework. These focus on key concepts such as health and safety, customer service, promoting products and services/treatments as well as the skills and responsibilities of the different roles within a hair and beauty salon.
