Jennie Kerwin
Jennie Kerwin is an independent mathematics consultant who writes a range of maths resources for teachers and children. She also writes and leads maths courses and supports LEAs. Jennie taught in a variety of primary schools in the West Midlands, before working as a consultant for the National Numeracy Project and then as a Regional Director for the National Numeracy Strategy in the SW for six years. When working for the NNS she particularly enjoyed training consultants and writing materials; in particular, she was the RD responsible for the Models and Images pack and edited and co-wrote the problem-solving pack. She now works as a freelance mathematics consultant doing INSET for local LAs and schools and teaches the maths component on a PGCE course. Her particular area of interest is the Dutch approach to learning about the number system, number facts and calculation strategies.
