ActiveLearn Subscription FAQs
Most ActiveLearn resources are accessed through institutional subscriptions, which can include teaching resources, online homework, and institutional licenses for student ActiveBooks. When you purchase an ActiveLearn subscription, the resources in that subscription are made available for all members of staff in your school. Teachers in your school can then register and organise their students on ActiveLearn, and provide them with student-specific resources (such as online courses and books).
Some student resources can also be accessed using ActiveBook codes, which are individual single-use ebook codes included with physical books. An ActiveBook code is unique to the person who redeems it, and is not shared among other students or staff in a school like a subscription.
How can I tell what is the best subscription/service for me?
You can speak to your Local Sales Consultant or use the Product Finder on the ‘All products in this series’ tab on the relevant subject page on our website.
What is my school/band size?
Your band size is determined by the size of your school as listed in our system based on the number of students you have registered.

I have ordered a yearly subscription. When does it start?
Subscriptions begin when you receive your Access/Institution code. This code is sent in an email after your order has been confirmed.
How can I check what subscriptions I have and when they expire?
Your current ActiveLearn subscriptions can be viewed from the My Products page in the Admin area.
Will my subscription/service renew automatically?
The purchaser in your school will receive notification in advance of the auto-renewal and will be offered the chance to cancel. If we do not hear from your school the product will renew automatically to ensure you do not lose access to the service or your data.
I am considering purchasing a longer-term subscription. Will the price rise over the next 5 years or will the costs stay at a similar level?
We cannot promise the price for a subscription will remain the same over time, but we will always be competitive and endeavour to offer a fair price for our services.
How do phased-releases work? When will ALL the content be ready?
Phased-release products are subscriptions where some resources are made available before the entire assortment of resources is finished. Each course is different, but you can check with your local consultant to find out currently planned release dates.
I am a private tutor, can I purchase an institution subscription?
We normally do not sell institution subscriptions to individual customers as the subscriptions are not intended, priced, or produced for this kind of use, but in certain circumstances we may make an exception to this rule. Contact Support to see if we can help you.
I want to try a product before buying it. Can I have a free trial?
If you wish to discuss further purchases or have other questions about your account you can find your local consultant here.
