Helping struggling learners to close the gap

The Government recently announced a package of support worth nearly £29 million to provide additional help for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This is part of a larger SEND spending package to continue transforming SEN provision and put families at the heart of the system. This is a much-needed boost and gives schools the means to prioritise SEND and support it with the right infrastructure including:

  • identifying children who need support
  • having the staff available to provide one-on-one support
  • pedagogies
  • classroom strategies
