A new, dynamic and evidence-based writing approach which is genre-focused and encourages children to write for pleasure.

Children are taught the process of writing which they then apply to deliver both creative and technically accurate pieces of writing.

Power English: Writing is a structured writing approach which follows a proven pedagogical cycle. It covers Key Stage 2, and includes materials to produce at least nine class writing projects per year.

Who are the series creators?

Phil Ferguson and Ross Young are national and writing representatives for the UKLA (United Kingdom Literacy Association). They are both committed writer-teachers: teachers who write and writers who teach.

Does Power English: Writing cover KS1 and KS2?
No. Power English: Writing covers KS2 only, from Year 3 through to Year 6.
Can I buy packages online?
Yes, you will be able to buy Power English: Writing online.
I don't want to commit to an entire package, can I buy single books?

Power English: Writing is a blended package with resources online and in print which are essential for developing and nurturing your children to become lifelong writers. We would not recommend using small parts of the programme in isolation as this will not deliver the best outcomes.

Do I need to buy the professional development course?

Yes.

The professional development course is compulsory when purchasing Power English: Writing, as they help to train you and your colleagues in how best to use each component of the programme.

Do I need to buy both print and digital components?

Yes.

The digital subscription gives you access to the pupil-facing genre booklets, as well as front-of-class whiteboard resources. The printed teacher guides contain all lesson plans, photocopiables, and a wealth of helpful guidance about getting the most out of the programme.
