The future of assessment Primary Schools Roundtable event 2021

The last 18 months has seen profound disruption to the primary assessment and accountability system. Given this, it feels appropriate to reflect on the current system and how well it supports pupils to make progress, and to reflect on any positive changes brought about by the recent disruption. This roundtable, a collaboration between EDSK and Pearson, will bring together leading voices on primary assessment to discuss the most pressing questions around assessment practices and how we measure progress.

About your hosts

Pearson provide teaching, learning and assessment solutions for primary schools and we’re fully committed to supporting schools with making learning journeys the best they can be. This event will help shape our thinking about how best to support teachers and school leaders in assessing their pupils’ progress.

EDSK is a ‘think tank’ that designs new and better ways for policymakers and educators to help every learner succeed – particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. EDSK is currently undertaking a major research project that will ask fundamental questions about when pupils should be assessed between the ages of 4 and 11, what form those assessments should take and what accountability system is needed to record the achievements of pupils and schools in England. This event will help shape the research and analysis in EDSK’s upcoming report.
