We want to highlight some of the key tools and resources to help you plan and implement effective recovery strategies for your students.
Written by subject experts, our free support packs show how some of our tried and tested resources complement and support each other. Including advice on delivery, mapping documents, sample lesson plans and advice for 1-2-1 and small group delivery, these support packs are designed to help you make a positive impact with students.
Primary School Support Packs
Bug Club support packs
This recovery booklet explains how Bug Club can be used by teachers, teaching assistants, parents and independently by students to support catch-up. It includes guidance on how the features of Bug Club can support recovery and a number of lesson plans to use as a model for planning individual delivery.
Revise Key Stage 2 SATs Mathematics Targeted Practice and Ten-Minute Tests
This support pack fully maps the content of each Targeted Practice book against the Ten-Minute Tests book. An exemplar lesson plan demonstrates how they can be used together in a 15-20 minute catch-up session.
Revise Key Stage 2 SATs English Targeted Practice and Ten-Minute Tests
This support pack explains how each feature of these resources can be used to guide catch-up of key concepts. Clear guidance is provided explaining how the resources can be used together, both 1-2-1 and in small groups, with an exemplar lesson plan and mapping to the National Curriculum.
Revise 11+ English Practice Books 1 & 2 and Ten Minute Tests
This support pack explains how each feature of these resources can be used to guide catch-up of key concepts. Clear guidance is provided explaining how the resources can be used together, both 1-2-1 and in small groups, with mapping to the National Curriculum and additional questions to aid learning.
Secondary School Support Packs
Target Grade 5 Edexcel GCSE (9-1) Mathematics and Revise Mathematics Foundation Bootcamp
This support pack maps the contents of both Target books and the Foundation bootcamp against each other and against the Pearson Edexcel Scheme of Work. It also explains how the two resources can be used together to diagnose student performance, support 1-2-1 and small group sessions and independent learning.
Level Up! KS3 Maths
This support pack contains guidance on using our Level Up! specifically 1-2-1 and with smaller groups for a catch-up. The guidance contains information on linking Level Up! with the Pearson Progression scale and contains a number of suggested plans for intervention sessions for a range of topics, that can be used to help you plan your sessions.
The new Access to Key Stage 3: mapping, helps teachers to understand the skills and concepts pupils have mastered in primary school using the NCETM ready-to-progress criteria which has been mapped to the Level Up Maths: Access Workbooks.

Pearson Edexcel GCSE (9-1) Mathematics Purposeful Practice Book – Foundation and Revise Key Stage 3 Mathematics Study Guide
This support pack maps the contents of the Revise Key Stage 3 Revision Guide and the GCSE Foundation Purposeful Practice Book against each other. It explains how these two resources can be used together to support students who are struggling with the transition from Key Stage 3 to 4 and suggests strategies for working with students both in 1-2-1, small group sessions and independent learning.

The Government's Funding for Education Recovery: FAQs
The Funding for Education Recovery is dedicated government funding, targeted to help students make up for learning lost during the pandemic. This funding boost is designed to give schools the resources they need to improve attainment, raise starting salaries for teachers and continue to meet the challenge of COVID-19 recovery. It’s in addition to the Pupil Premium and is allocated using the same data. All schools that are eligible for Pupil Premium are eligible for Recovery Premium.
All schools in England have the flexibility to spend the funding in the way that works best for them, in line with the guidance on curriculum expectations. This could include:
- Supporting the quality of teaching, such as staff professional development
- Dealing with non-academic barriers to success in school, such as attendance, behaviour and social and emotional support
- Providing targeted academic support.
Like the Pupil Premium, schools can:
- spend the Recovery Premium on a wider cohort of pupils than those who attract the funding
- direct Recovery Premium spending where they think the need is greatest.
