Support for English Hubs

Work with us

Every hub is supported by one of our dedicated Partnership Team. Local to you, they are working every day with schools and multi-academy trusts to ensure they are getting the most out of their Pearson resources.

They are on hand to support you and the schools you are working with and can offer guidance on everything from understanding how our programmes work to booking training. They will also work alongside schools throughout the buying process ensuring packages are aligned to their needs and budgets.

Support for hubs includes:

  • showcase attendance
  • tailored webinars
  • ActiveLearn Primary access
  • samples
  • product walkthroughs
  • quote and ordering support.

Find out more about Bug Club Phonics, one of the DfE’s approved phonics teaching programmes.

Brand-new Primary Literacy Reading Pathways

We have four exciting new reading pathways for schools to choose from, designed to help all pupils develop a lifelong love of reading.

Why choose Bug Club Phonics?

Revalidated in 2021 as one of the DfE's approved SSP programmes, Bug Club Phonics is centred around an accessible and inclusive teaching approach. The Essential package includes lessons, lesson plans and allocatable games in addition to 180 fully decodable readers with fiction and non-fiction titles matching the GPCs.

Bug Club Phonics training for English Hub Literacy Specialists

We offer Bug Club Phonics training to all Hub Literacy Specialists. These sessions are set up according to demand and are held at least once a term.

The session lasts for approximately two hours and is led by one of our experienced literacy trainers. We cover how to use the Bug Club Phonics product in detail and allow ample time for questions at the end.

Agenda

  • How to navigate the Active Learn Platform (ALP) to find all the resources in Bug Club Phonics.
  • A walk through of a Language lesson and a Phoneme lesson.
  • How to use the decodable readers and the pupil games effectively.
  • How assessment works in Bug Club Phonics.

There is no limit on the number of Hub employees who can attend this training, but each delegate will need to register for the course separately. All registrants are given access to their own ActiveLearn account ahead of the session and will need to be logged in for the training itself, as there are hands-on sections of the course.

The training is hosted on Zoom and there is no charge.
